Job Purpose:
- Develop and submit an Inception Report, with a detailed work plan for the 3-month consultancy in collaboration and as agreed with the Ministry of Youth and Gender Affairs & UNFPA, for approval by the Technical Working Group and Reference Team.
- Review and evaluate the 2016-2020 National Strategy Towards ending Gender Based Violence.
- Conduct a comprehensive literature review in order to collect and compile related guidance and approaches existing at global, regional and country levels.
- Plan and facilitate six consultative sessions (Maun, Kasane Francistown, Tsabong, Molepolole, Ghanzi) for the GBV Service providers and other identified organizations who are involved in GBV prevention to assess their experience in terms of relevance, approaches, effectiveness, impact, challenges, good practices, sustainability with monitoring and evaluation mechanisms.
- Engage with community/traditional leaders Goodhope, Mahalapye, Mathathane, Letlhakane, Tutume, Takatokwane, (focus group discussions) to assess their experience, priorities and recommendations.
- Develop a stakeholder mapping that outlines best institutional arrangements for implementation of the strategy.
- Submit Revised Draft Strategy (2025-2030)
- Submit Final Revised Strategy (2025-2030)
Qualifications and Experience:
Education:
The consultant must possess:
- Master’s degree or equivalent in gender studies, sociology, social sciences, public health, or other related fields.
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the area of gender and development.
- Experience in policy/ strategy design and proven capacity to produce work of high quality.
- Experience in development of GBV Strategy will be an added advantage.
- Knowledge of and application of GBV primary prevention approaches.
- Strong oral and written communication skills; ability to present and facilitate sessions and content in English language.
- Experience in designing and managing GBV programmes.
