Organizational Context

Under the direct supervision of the Assistant Representative the SRH/HIV Linkages Coordinator substantively coordinates the scaling up of the SRH/HIV & SGBV within the broad government integration agenda. Botswana is among the ten countries in the region implementing the SRH/HIV & SGBV Joint Regional Program named 2gether4SRHR. After successfully piloting the SRH/HIV Linkages Project in ten sites the Ministry of Health and Wellness(MoHW) decided to expand the integration to encompass Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health plus Nutrition (RMNCAH). The “2gether4SRHR programme seeks to strengthen access to integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR)/HIV and Sexual & Gender Based Violence (SGBV) services in order to accelerate action on Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 3 and 5.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the integration of SRHR/ HIV and SGBV within the context of the National RMNCAH Strategy.
  • Coordinate the provision of technical assistance in SRHR/HIV & SGBV integration to national counterparts at national and district levels and ensure alignment with the aspiration of the SDGs and the National Strategic Documents (Vision 2030, NDP 11, Revised National Health Policy & MoHw Strategic Plan and Road Map and NSF III. )
  • Facilitate adoption of and application of global and regional Service Standards and Quality Improvement principles in SRHR/HIV and SGBV service delivery, including service to the vulnerable and key populations, in-keeping with the principles of universal health coverage
  • Contributes to the formulation and design of the Country Programme and its component projects in line with Government priorities and according to UNFPA’s Strategic Plan, programme policies and procedures, and ensures that gender and human rights perspectives are mainstreamed in the SRH programme. Ensures quality of programme design incorporating lessons learned, newly developed policies and best practices and establishing appropriate execution and monitoring mechanisms and systems
  • Participate in and provide technical inputs to the UN Country Thematic Groups on to promote interagency collaboration
  • Support the Governments to mobilize resources, to dialogue and lobby with major funding organizations, development partners and national and sub-regional authorities to leverage funds for the integration of SRHR/ HIV and SGBV programmes and activities

Job Requirements

Academic requirements – At least Masters in Public health, Nursing Science or related field

Experience – two (2) years experience in development, design and implementation of HIV and AIDS and sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) & SGBV

Languages – Fluency in oral and written English

Computer Skills – Proficiency in current office software applications and corporate IT systems
